Otter Creek Horse Trails in one of the most pristine wild forest preserves you could imagine located in rural upstate New York! New York State Department of Environmental Conservation manages & maintains the 65 miles of horse trails located in the foothills of the Adirondack Park.

The trails are sandy, and in sections, hilly or flat. You can pick your level of riding adventure. Numorous steams, creeks, rivers and lakes intersect the trials, so be prepared for water crossings or bridges. ATVing is not permitted on the horse trails.

We will provide you with a new trial map so you won't get lost. All trails are well marked.

Please have a current negative coggins test available. Health certificates required for out of state horses.

Always wear a helmet.

If you ride alone, please tell a friend where you are going. Take your cell phone, about 80% of the trails get cell service.
